Facial Dystrophic Calcinosis Cutis Post Acne
Abstract: Acne vulgaris is a disorder of the pilosebaceous unit, characterized by inflammatory and non-inflammatory skin lesions. Common sequelae of acne include post-acne hyperpigmentation, erythema, and scarring, often associated with significant psychological distress. Calcinosis cutis is the deposition of calcium salts in the skin, and its occurrence following acne vulgaris is rarely reported in the literature and is likely an underdiagnosed entity. Herein, we report a case of dystrophic calcinosis cutis post acne in a 52-year-old female.
