The Indian Gharial is Facing a Critical Risk of Extinction - An Analysis Centered on Preservation Efforts
Abstract: India is home to a rich diversity of flora and fauna, with numerous species classified as endangered due to habitat loss, poaching, climate change, and other anthropogenic factors. The geo-economic considerations surrounding these species involve the intersection of ecological sustainability, economic development, and geopolitical dynamics. Understanding these considerations is crucial for formulating effective conservation strategies that balance ecological integrity with economic growth. Conservation initiatives for threatened reptile species in India are crucial for preserving biodiversity and maintaining ecological balance. India is home to a rich variety of reptiles, including snakes, lizards, turtles, and crocodilians, many of which face threats from habitat loss, poaching, climate change, and pollution.
