AI-Powered Recruitment Automation: Implementation, Impact, and Outlook
Abstract: Artificial intelligence (AI) has rapidly become integral to modern talent acquisition, especially following the late-2022 boom in large language models and generative AI. This article examines how AI-driven automation is being implemented across the recruiting lifecycle and analyzes its effects on hiring outcomes. We synthesize recent surveys, case studies, and emerging academic research to highlight key AI applications ? from r?sum? screening and candidate sourcing to AI-assisted interviews, chatbots, and generative content creation. Adoption of AI in recruitment has surged globally, yielding benefits such as faster hiring cycles, reduced costs, and in some cases improved candidate-job matching. At the same time, we discuss challenges and ethical considerations, including algorithmic bias, transparency for candidates, and new regulations. Overall, while AI-powered recruiting tools demonstrate significant potential to improve efficiency and decision-making in hiring, realizing these benefits requires thoughtful integration that augments (rather than replaces) human judgment.
