Family Environment and Social Intelligence in Adolescents: An Analysis
Abstract: Family dynamics significantly influence the development of social intelligence in adolescents. Household units consisting of parents, children, and extended family members create environmental conditions that either support or hinder young people's interpersonal skill development. When caregivers establish nurturing, supportive atmospheres, adolescents develop stronger capacities for understanding social cues, managing relationships, and demonstrating emotional competence. Conversely, dysfunctional family systems may impede these critical developmental processes. This investigation examines how family environments shape adolescent social intelligence through analysis of existing research literature. The study synthesizes findings from books, scholarly articles, journals, and digital resources to understand these interconnected phenomena. Results suggest that positive family dynamics serve as foundational elements for developing sophisticated social and emotional competencies during the crucial adolescent period.
