Correcting Common Misunderstandings of Lorentz-Fitzgerald Length Contraction: A Guide to Accurate Measurements

Dr. Hasmukh D Rathod [2]

Abstract: This article points out the mistake in a Lorentz Fitzgerald length contraction by explaining the restriction in the use of Lorentz Fitzgerald length contraction. It has been explained that for the two different points on the positive X axis (i.e. x_1 and x_2), there can not be the same time value. Means one cannot measure two different distances by using Lorentz transformation simultaneously. So, the value vt_(1 )and vt_(2 )cannot be the same. Means we can?t take vt_(1 )=vt_(2 )=vt by saying that length x_1 and x_2 are measured at same time ?t" so measured simultaneously. This yields different results when we calculate for Lorentz Fitzgerald length contraction. So, correction of the calculations is advised.
