Assessment of Quality of Life in Multiple Sclerosis Patients: The Impact of Dietary Habits, Socio - Demographic and Clinical Characteristics
Abstract: Introduction: Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory neurological disease with an increased incidence. Aim: Our aim was to evaluate the quality of life of MS patients the effects of implemented nutritional practices, as well as their socio - demographic and clinical characteristics, which have been understudied in Greece. Materials and Methods: A cross - sectional study, utilizing convenience sampling was conducted. The study sample included 137 MS patients. The data collection instruments included the MSQOL - 54 Multiple Sclerosis Quality of Life Questionnaire and the dietary intake frequency scales Mediterranean Diet Score (MedDiet score) and Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA).
