Abstract: Background: The imbalance in phosphorus eventually disturbs calcium balance, and PTH and in turn contributes to vascular calcifications i.e., deposition of ca and po4 (hydroxyapatite crystals) in the myocardium and cardiac valves leading to 50% of deaths in ESRD. The use of phosphate binders together with dietary control of phosphorus is the ways to prevent hyperphosphatemia in chronic kidney failure patients.
