Hiba Hassan Satti, Adil Nasr Morsi
Abstract: Background: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a potential fatal autoimmune disease. Vitamin D deficiency is more prevalent among SLE patients than the general population. Over the past years, many studies worldwide have been carried out to investigate the role of vitamin D in SLE patients. Therefore, this study is aimed to evaluate and summarize the evidence of the association between vitamin D level and different doses of vitamin D and calcium supplements. Methodology: A cross-sectional case-control study of patients with SLE who were following-up in various private clinics at Khartoum state during February-May 2017. Demographic and clinical data were recorded and vitamin D levels of patients were measured using ELISA techniques. Chi square tests, One-Way ANOVA, Independent T-tests, and Pearson tests were used for statistical analysis. A p- value & lt; 0.05 was considered significant
