Investigation on Transient Characteristics due to Lightning
Abstract: The behaviour of transient characteristics of the grounding grid due to lightning is investigated. The effect of permittivity and resistivity of the earth on such characteristics is consolidated. Simulation is carried out at high frequency using MATLAB. It is interesting to note that the permittivity has small influence and resistivity has considerable effect on transient response.
