Classroom Management in Primary Schools Challenges and Practical Solutions for Novice Teachers
Abstract: Effective classroom management is a critical skill for novice teachers, particularly in primary education. Novice teachers frequently encounter challenges such as student distractions, disruptive behaviour, and diverse learning needs, which can negatively impact student outcomes and teacher confidence. This study identifies the main classroom management challenges through classroom observations, interviews with experienced educators, and a comprehensive literature review. Practical solutions proposed include proactive lesson planning, engaging instructional methods, establishment of clear classroom rules, and professional mentorship. Implementing these strategies can enhance classroom control, improve student engagement, and support teacher development.
