Abstract: Aim- The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of the delta plates and Trilock Delta plates in the treatment of the mandibular Condylar fracture. Materials and Methods- Thirty patients with the mandibular condylar fractures were included in the study. Patients were randomly divided into two groups. Group A was treated with Delta plate, Group B was treated with Trilock Delta plates. All patients were evaluated and followed up for 6 months. Age, sex, operating time, pain, infection, occlusion, neurosensory deficit, lateral deviation, protrusion and mouth opening were evaluated Result- Overall the complication including the facial nerve palsy were minimal and serve to prove that ORIF ( Open Reduction Internal Fixation ) of the mandibular condyle with the delta plates and the Trilock Delta plates provides excellent functional result with good quality of life and early return to normal. Conclusion- Both the Delta plates and Trilock Delta plates performed clinically with good clinical parameters at the end of six month. The pain was overall lesser with average mouth opening of 37.87 Vs 37.36 ( Delta plates Vs Trilock Delta plates ), average lateral deviation and protrusion being unrestricted, good functional occlusion and total absence of infection.
