Nikita Agrawal | Anil Humane

Abstract: Uterine leiomyomas are most common gynaecological benign tumors, arising from smooth muscle cells of the myometrium. A 42 year old woman came with complaints of abdominal distension and pelvic pain since last 6 month. Patient underwent TAH with BSO. Fibroid measured 51*46*28 cm in size and weighed 18 kg. Giant uterine myomas are very rare and can often create a diagnostic dilemma and therapeutic challenge owing to their size, non-specific clinical presentation and degenerations. Therefore, this entity should always be kept in mind while dealing with patients with giant abdominopelvic tumors.
