Dewi Anggariani | Supriadi Hamdat | Yamin Sani [2] | Ansar Arifin

Abstract: Feminist movement emerges from the women opression that can be found worldwide. The opression is due to the domestic workS assigned to women. However, this phenomenon is not observed in the life of Bugis women, even the domestic roles assigned to them as wife and mother have positioned them to a noble position, and provide balance in society arrangement. The pangaderreng values upon which the Buginese people thoughts and acts are based regulate the women behaviors in two different areas and provide them a chance in public area, including power and even become a queen. The same is true for domestic area, where they are given autonomy to manage affairs without oppressions
