Mobile Phone Use and Behavioural Issues among Adolescents: The Role of Family and Nursing Support
Abstract: Mobile phones have become an important part of adolescents? daily lives. They are used for education, communication, entertainment and social interaction. Although these devices offer several benefits, excessive or uncontrolled use may interfere with sleep, concentration, academic activities and relationships with family members. Some adolescents also experience difficulties related to social media pressure, cyberbullying and online comparison. However, mobile phone use does not affect every adolescent in the same way. The impact depends on the purpose of use, individual characteristics, family environment and the extent to which phone use interferes with everyday activities. This article discusses common behavioural concerns associated with problematic mobile phone use and examines the role of parents, teachers and nurses in promoting healthy digital habits. A supportive approach that combines communication, appropriate boundaries and emotional guidance may help adolescents develop responsible technology use.
