Abstract: Advancements in the product development field have seen a sea of change in relation to sheet metal and part modeling technologies, helping designers create efficient, more accurate, and innovative designs. These have totally changed engineers' and designers' concepts of highly complex component developments by making them more flexible, precise, and economical. This paper sheds light on recent trends and technologies in sheet metal and part modeling and shows how these are proving to be boons to better product development processes.
