Member Profile

Gilles Saint-Hilaire, born in 1948 in Chicoutimi, Quebec, is an innovator with a passion for engines and technology. He spent the early part of his career contributing to plasma physics research at institutions across Canada, France, and Italy. His work spanned laser-matter interactions, plasma physics, and renewable energy, eventually leading him to serve as a director on large-scale energy projects such as the $2 billion Trans-Canada Pipeline initiative.

After completing a monumental career phase in the energy sector, Saint-Hilaire embarked on a three-year sailing adventure in the Caribbean with his family. During this time, frustrations with noisy and unreliable engines sparked his curiosity and drive to create a better engine design. Upon returning to Canada, he dedicated himself to the development of the Quasiturbine, a revolutionary zero-vibration engine concept, which has since gained recognition worldwide for its innovative approach.

Today, Saint-Hilaire continues to contribute to the field of engine design, actively promoting the Quasiturbine and its applications. His interests extend beyond engines, holding licenses as a US Coast Guard Captain and a commercial multi-engine airplane pilot, making him a true Renaissance man in the world of energy, technology, and innovation.
