The Role of Values in Education

Abstract: This paper is concerned with a delicate and sensitive issue most academicians and policy-makers do not wish to dwell on, for it deals with the personal choices and innermost motivations of people, their values and priorities, their moral and ethical principles, their freedoms and responsibilities, their lifestyles and behaviors. Yet, learning how to value, how to appreciate and to love, to choose what is right and just, what is true and good, is an imperative in today-s world of rapidly advancing technology and fast deteriorating morality and spiritual stagnancy.
