El Impacto del Liderazgo Transformacional en la Practica Docente: Un Estudio Comparativo de Escuelas Publicas en Ecuador y Escuelas Privadas K12 en China
Abstract: This essay comparatively analyzes the implementation of transformational leadership in two distinct educational contexts: the Adolfo Jurado Gonz?lez Basic Education School in Ecuador and private K12 schools in China. Through the analysis of Tomal?'s (2025) thesis and Hou, Ahmad, and Zhao's (2024) systematic review, the similarities and differences in applied theoretical models, leadership dimensions, challenges faced, and results obtained in both countries are examined. Both contexts share the adoption of Bass's (1985) model as the fundamental theoretical basis, confirming the positive impact of transformational leadership on teaching practice, intrinsic motivation, and pedagogical innovation. However, while Ecuador focuses on Bass's four classic dimensions (idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration) within a public system focused on educational equity, China diversifies its theoretical approach by incorporating the models of Kouzes and Posner (2006), Bennis and Nanus (1985), and Leithwood and Sun (2012), adapting to a massive and highly competitive private education market. The identified challenges reveal convergences in communication problems, training, and resistance to change, but also significant differences: Ecuador faces technological gaps and economic resource limitations, while China struggles with the cultural adaptation of Western theories, clarification of roles between management and leadership, and demographic pressures. Methodologically, Ecuador uses a quantitative empirical approach with primary data from a specific school, while China employs a systematic literature review with national scope. Results in Ecuador show high levels of teacher satisfaction (91% trust and respect, 100% commitment), while China emphasizes the need to develop culturally adapted theoretical frameworks of its own. Recommendations from both studies converge on the importance of continuous training and feedback, but diverge in that Ecuador prioritizes practical mechanisms coordinated with existing institutions, while China seeks to build specific theories and strategies for its context. The essay concludes that transformational leadership, although universal in its fundamental principles, requires significant contextual adaptations to be effective in educational realities as diverse as those of Ecuador and China.
