Architectural Inclusivity: A Complete Framework for Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
Abstract: Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a proactive, neuroscience-based framework developed by CAST that provides an inclusive, flexible approach to education, aiming to replace "one-size-fits-all" teaching. By aligning instructional strategies with three neural networks- affective, recognition, and strategic-UDL enhances student engagement, representation, and expression, resulting in improved academic achievement and reduced reliance on reactive, individualized accommodations.
