A Descriptive Study to Assess the Selected Musculoskeletal Problems due to Carrying Heavy School Bag among the Students (10 to 12 Years) in Selected Schools of Urban Area

Abstract: A descriptive study to assess the selected musculoskeletal problems due to carrying heavy school bag among the student (10 to 12 yrs.) in selected schools of urban area. the study objective was to assess the musculoskeletal problems due to carrying heavy school bag among school going children in urban area and to measure the musculoskeletal discomfort in school going children. The research approach used was Non experimental Descriptive survey approach. Total 200 samples are selected for the study. The research design selected for the study was Non experimental Descriptive design. The setting was selected urban area. The sample includes school going children (10-12year); sampling technique was used purposive sampling. pGALS screening test used for the assessment. The pilot study was conducted with 20 samples. Reliability was established by Guttmann split ?half method. Data was analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. Accordingly, findings and analysis of data shows that, the majority of school going student are more leads to suffer with back and spine and neck and shoulder problems.
