Recent Advancements in Artificial Intelligence: A Review of Technologies, Applications, and Future Scope

Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become one of the most rapidly advancing technologies, influencing various sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, finance, manufacturing, and transportation. AI enables machines to perform tasks that generally require human intelligence, including learning, reasoning, decision-making, and problem-solving. Recent developments in machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and generative AI have significantly improved the capabilities of intelligent systems. This review paper presents an overview of recent advances in Artificial Intelligence, its major applications, challenges, and future research directions. The paper discusses how AI-based solutions are improving efficiency, automation, and decision-making processes across different domains. It also highlights important challenges including data privacy, security risks, ethical concerns, algorithmic bias, lack of transparency, and regulatory issues. Furthermore, the paper explores future opportunities in areas such as explainable AI, trustworthy AI, edge computing, and human-centered intelligent systems. The study concludes that responsible development and effective governance of AI technologies are essential for maximizing their benefits while reducing potential risks.
