Comparative Study Between Laparoscopic Transabdominal Preperitoneal (TAPP) Repair and Open Lichtenstein Hernioplasty for Primary Inguinal Hernia: A Prospective Comparative Study
Abstract: Inguinal hernia repair is one of the most frequently performed operations in general surgery. Although open Lichtenstein mesh hernioplasty remains the conventional standard because of its simplicity and low recurrence rate. laparoscopic Transabdominal Preperitoneal (TAPP) repair has become increasingly popular owing to its minimally invasive approach and faster postoperative recovery. Choosing between these techniques requires consideration of operative outcomes, postoperative pain, complications, recovery profile, and overall patient satisfaction.
