A Comprehensive Review of White Light-Emitting Diodes
Abstract: To date most Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) have revolutionized the lighting industry due to their energy efficiency, long lifespan, and versatility in various applications. Lead in this direction of advanced research and modification in semiconductor properties the White Light-Emitting Diode (WLED) research over the last five years (2021-2026) has primarily focused on phasing out scarce rare-earth minerals, achieving perfect "sun-like" color rendering, and developing eco-friendly single-component materials. This part of review provides an overview of WLED technology, its key components, and its impact on different sectors.
