Security Dimensions of India-GCC Countries Relations: Assessing the Challenges and Strategic Opportunities
Abstract: India's relations with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have grown from a mainly economic relationship into a multidimensional strategic partnership with substantial security implications. This paper examines India-GCC countries relations of the security dimensions by investigating the maritime security, security of energy, counterterrorism, and stability of the region. It assesses the emerging challenges such as rivalries of geopolitics, conflicts of regional influence, and the growing interference of external powers like Europeans, the American and Isreal. It also identifies opportunities for deeper strategic cooperation between India and GCC countries engagements. The strengthening of India-GCC countries security collaboration is essential for ensuring stability. This study also highlights the importance of peace in the Middle East region and preservation of common interests.
