Unsteady MHD Ethanol Boundary Layer Flows at a Three-Dimensional Stagnation Point with Variable Viscosity and Prandtl Number

Dr. Ashwini .G

Abstract: In this paper the effect of variable viscosity and Prandtl number on an unsteady magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) mixed convective ethanol boundary flow of viscous, incompressible and electrically conducting fluid at a three-dimensional stagnation point have been investigated. The governing partial differential equations have been solved numerically using the finite-difference scheme along with quasilinearization technique. The influence of magnetic parameter on skin-friction coefficients and velocity components in x-and directions, Nusselt number and temperature profiles in both accelerating and decelerating flow regimes are analyzed. Numerical results show that magnetic parameter has a significant effect on skin friction (x and y directions) and heat transfer coefficients. The effect of variable viscosity is to increase skin friction coefficient and to decrease heat transfer coefficient.
