A Smart ICT-based E-Learning Model Using Artificial Intelligence Tools
Abstract: Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming conventional teaching and learning practices. Traditional e-learning systems primarily provide digital access to learning materials, recorded lectures, online assessments, and communication facilities. However, the integration of Artificial Intelligence can make e-learning more adaptive, interactive, personalized, and learner-centred. This paper proposes a Smart ICT-Based E-Learning Model Using Artificial Intelligence Tools for improving teaching-learning processes in higher education. The proposed model integrates ICT infrastructure, learning management systems, AI-based content generation, intelligent tutoring, personalized learning, automated assessment, learning analytics, natural language processing, virtual assistance, recommendation systems, and digital library resources. The model also emphasizes teacher supervision, digital literacy, data privacy, cybersecurity, ethical AI use, and accessibility. A conceptual framework is developed consisting of input, intelligent processing, personalized learning, assessment, analytics, feedback, and continuous improvement components. The proposed model can support teachers in lesson planning, content development, assessment, student engagement, and academic monitoring while enabling students to access personalized learning resources. The paper concludes that AI-supported ICT-based e-learning can complement teachers and improve the flexibility, accessibility, and efficiency of education when implemented responsibly. The proposed model provides a framework for educational institutions seeking to integrate AI tools with existing ICT and e-learning infrastructure.
