Role of Big Data Analytics (BDA) in Quality 4.0 Implementation
Abstract: The digital transformation of manufacturing and service sectors under the umbrella of Industry 4.0 has necessitated a profound evolution in quality management paradigms, giving rise to Quality 4.0. At the heart of this transformation lies Big Data Analytics (BDA), which serves as the core computational engine enabling organizations to process massive, high-velocity streams of operational data. This paper investigates the critical role of Big Data Analytics in facilitating successful Quality 4.0 implementation. It evaluates how descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics shift quality control from a reactive, sample-based approach to a real-time, autonomous, and data-driven ecosystem. Furthermore, this study examines the architectural requirements for integrating BDA within legacy operational frameworks, addresses core implementation challenges such as data quality, governance, and infrastructural silos, and outlines a strategic framework for leveraging analytics to achieve sustainable organizational excellence.
