Stability Indicating Eco-Friendly HPLC Method for Molnupiravir
Kiran Somshetwar | Mrinalini Damle
Abstract: The growing interest of Green Analytical Chemistry (GAC) principles through replacement of polluting analytical procedures with greener ones, has encouraged us to develop an eco-friendly stability-indicating HPLC with photo diode array method (HPLC-PDA) for determination of Molnupiravir. Effective separation was accomplished using SunQ C18 column (4.6?250 mm, 5 ?m particle size) with isocratic elution of the mobile phase composed of Methanol: Water (60: 40 v/v). Quantification of Molnupiravir was based on measuring the peak area at 236 nm. Molnupiravirpeak eluted at retention time 3.78 ?0.02 min. The developed HPLC procedure was carefully validated in terms of system suitability, linearity and range, precision, accuracy, specificity, robustness, detection and quantification limits. Forced degradation conditions of neutral, acidic and alkaline hydrolysis, oxidation, photo degradation and thermal degradation were studied. Peak purity was established using Borwin software and the results obtained were satisfactory.
