The Foundation's Strategy in Developing Children in the Bukit Kalvari Luaharaga Orphanage, Gunungsitoli District, Gunungsitoli City

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to find out the strategy of the Bukit Kalvari Luaharaga Orphanage Foundation, Gunungsitoli Selatan District, Gunungsitoli City in developing the potential of the orphanage children. One of the objectives of the ?Bukit Kalvari Orphanage Foundation is to assist children in preparing for the development of their potential and abilities adequately in providing provisions for life and livelihood in the future. Their foster children develop talents and interests that can be used as provisions for the future. This data collection uses the method of interviews and passive participatory observation, with in-depth interviews (in-dept interviews). Education that is instilled is to ensure the importance of education for orphanage children, not as coercion. but always put forward the importance of convincing the aspect of awareness of the importance of education for them. Because in this way children can determine where they should go, of course we do group counseling all the time and tell each other about the challenges that will come in the future. Development in the educational and physical fields is the main strategy in exploring and developing the potential that exists within the orphanage children.
