Abstract: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease (COPD) is a gradually progressive chronic disease that can be characterized by an unavoidable decline in respiratory function, exercise capacity, and health status. Exacerbations are events in the natural history of COPD when there is marked increase in symptoms like dyspnoea, sputum volume and purulence.
