Nodular hyperplasia with or without associated prostatitis was the commonest prostatic lesion (237 specimens, 82.6 %) among all the specimens. Adenocarcinoma was the only malignant type of lesion seen in 49 specimens (17.1 %), mainly in the age group of 70-79yrs. More than half (53.1 %) of these Adenocarcinoma were Poorly differentiated. Prostatic Intra-epithelial Neoplasia was seen in one specimen only.
