Computational Analysis of Pressure Variation of Squeeze Film Damper in Aero-Gas Turbine Engine

Pravin Kumar Kamanat, Freno Fahad R

Abstract: A vibratory system generally, involves a means for storing potential energy alongside the kinetic energy, and a way by which energy is progressively lost (damper). The vibration of a system involves the transfer of its potential energy to kinetic energy and kinetic energy to potential energy and alternatively. Considering a damped system, some amount of energy is lost in each cycle of vibration which must be replaced by an external source if a state of steady vibration is to be preserved.
