Study the Effect of Bilwa Amra Yog on Atisara in the Age Group of 1-5 Years

Abstract: The disease atisara is common in age group of 1 to 5 years. if atisara is not treated on time it may lead to life threatening conditions. it has been mentioned by acharya charaka that if atisara is not treated properly in time it may give rise to pravahika, parikarttika, parshsvashoola, moorcha etc This title of the study is STUDY THE EFFECT OF BILWA AMRA YOG ON ATISARA IN THE AGE GROUP OF 1-5 YEAR. It was an open consented Clinical Study, it was limited to 45 patients presenting with symptoms of Atisara. The present study was under taken at B. V. D. U. College Of Ayurved pune and Bharati Ayurved Hospital and Research center Pune, and case paper prepared on the basis of ayurvedic and allopathic parameter. Atisar is one of the most common diseases found in Indian children, having low immunity. This age group is very much prone to infections and leads to many diseases. It is more common in children beyond 6 month of age, in the ksheeraannada stage where the child starts to eat other foods. Due to improper weaning of the baby there are more chances of stomach upset atisara vyadhi. . According to ayurveda, Atisara is the common problem of the present lifestyle due to irregular and unhealthy habits relating to Aahar and Vihar most important factors in the pathogenesis is mandagni. It is the root cause of amadosha and most common factor for manifestation or the diseases including atisarvyadhi the characteristic feature of atisara is that which occurs very fastly. Atisara is a condition where watery stool/ Dravamala passes through Guda in excess quantity at several times a day. Types of atisar according to susruta are 6 types they are Vataj, Sannipata, jPittaj, Shokaj, Kaphaj, Amaj. Acharya charaka mentioned the 2 avastha os atisara like amavastha and pakwavastha. . Some other acharyas also mentioned raktaj and bhayaj as type of atisara.
