The Improvement of Meat Production at the Carpathian Goat Breed through Crossbreeding with Boer Breed
Abstract: The researches were made on 3 lots of male kids which were fattened with granulated mixed fodder and Lucerne hay. The lots were made as follows 1. R1 hybrids 13 heads, 2. F1 hybrids 17 heads, 3. Kids of Carpathian breed 11 heads. The fattening lasted for 100 days until the kids reached the body weighs between 29-36 kg. There were determined the speed of growing and the specific consumption per lot. The speed of growing at the R1 and F1 hybrids was significantly bigger than at the Carpathian breed.
