Leveraging Data Analytics to Combat Pandemics: Real-Time Analytics for Public Health Response

Abstract: The global outbreak of infectious diseases has underscored the urgent need for data driven responses in public health. As pandemics unfold rapidly and unpredictably, traditional epidemiological methods alone are insufficient to guide timely decisions. This paper investigates the critical role of real - time data analytics in enabling governments, healthcare institutions, and research bodies to predict, monitor, and control disease spread. We explore the end - to - end analytics pipeline, from multi - source data ingestion and transformation to the deployment of predictive models and dashboards. Special attention is given to the technological infrastructure required for such systems, along with ethical and policy challenges surrounding data privacy and governance. Through illustrative use cases and modeling approaches, this paper demonstrates how real - time analytics not only enhances operational efficiency but also increases transparency and trust during public health crises. The research aims to bridge the gap between data science and epidemiology and serve as a blueprint for analytics - integrated pandemic preparedness strategies in the digital era.
