Role of Partner Support in Maternal Mental Health: Impacts on Emotional Well-being and Postpartum Outcomes
Abstract: Maternal mental health is an essential aspect of a woman?s overall well-being during pregnancy and the postpartum period. It influences not only the mother?s emotional and psychological health but also infant development, mother-infant bonding, and family relationships. However, hormonal changes, sleep deprivation, lifestyle adjustments, and social pressures can contribute to mental health challenges such as postpartum depression, anxiety, and emotional distress. This manuscript examines the role of partner support in promoting maternal mental health and improving postpartum outcomes. It focuses on emotional, psychological, and practical support, along with the challenges that may prevent partners from providing effective assistance.
