Knowledge and Attitude on Organ Donation among College Students of Sivasagar District, Assam with a View to Develop an Information Booklet
Abstract: A quantitative survey approach with descriptive correlational research design was adopted for the study. A multi stage stratified random sampling technique was used to draw 166 students from four selected colleges of Sivasagar District, Assam. Data collection was done by using Structured Self-Administered Questionnaire and Three-point Likert scale. The data collected was analyzed in terms of descriptive and inferential statistics. Result showed that majority of the subjects i.e., 131(79%) college students had Moderately adequate knowledge, 20(12%) students had Adequate knowledge and 15(9%) college students had Inadequate knowledge regarding organ donation. Majority i.e., 98(59%) college students had Moderately favourable attitude, 37(22.3%) students had favourable attitude and 31(18.7%) college students had Unfavourable attitude regarding organ donation.
