A Descriptive Study to Assess the Knowledge on Breast Self-Examination among Nursing Students of GNM Training School Goalpara, Assam
Abstract: A breast self examination is a technique which allows an individual to examine breast tissue for any physical or visual changes. It is often used as an early detection method for breast cancer. A descriptive survey design was used on 20 GNM nursing students selected by using Purposive sampling technique. Self-structured knowledge questionnaire was used to collect the data. The results revealed that in pre-test majority 14(70%) of participants had moderately adequate knowledge, 6(30%) had adequate knowledge and 0(0%) inadequate knowledge on breast self examination among GNM nursing students. The association between pre-test knowledge on breast self examination among GNM nursing students with their demographic variables which was tested by using chi-square test, results showed that all the democratic variables such as age, language, educational status, religion, family income and living area were non significant at P
