Not All Shocks Need Inotropes - Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy
Abstract: Cardiomyopathies are a heterogeneous group of diseases of the myocardium associated with mechanical and/or electrical dysfunction. The etiology is unknown but most commonly mediated by inflammation, autoimmune processes, endothelial dysfunction, and oxidative stress. The annual incidence of cardiomyopathy is 1 per 100,000 live birth children amongst this incidence of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is 0.47/100,000 in children.
