Prevalence of Diabetes Mellitus among Newly Diagnosed Tuberculosis Patients in Western UP
Abstract: This study investigates the prevalence of diabetes mellitus among newly diagnosed tuberculosis patients in Western UP. The research is a hospital based prospective study involving 215 patients. The study found a higher prevalence of diabetes in females compared to males and in the age group of 3060 years. The results highlight the need for routine screening of tuberculosis patients for diabetes due to its high mortality rate.
