Abstract: Hypertension, a prevalent and often asymptomatic condition, remains a significant health concern worldwide. This comprehensive review aims to explore the intricate landscape of neurological complications associated with hypertension, shedding light on the prevailing challenges in its recognition, prevention, and management while emphasizing the need for a holistic approach. The literature surveyed in this review uncovers a wealth of research detailing the multifaceted connections between hypertension and its impact on the nervous system. Hypertension, often referred to as the "silent killer," can lead to severe neurological complications, including stroke, cognitive decline, and vascular dementia. These complications not only affect patients' quality of life but also contribute to the global burden of neurological diseases. In the ensuing discussion, we delve deeper into the strategies for recognizing and preventing neurological complications of hypertension, highlighting the importance of blood pressure control, lifestyle modifications, and early intervention. Antihypertensive medications and their role in preventing neurological damage are also explored. The limitations and controversies in hypertension management are addressed, underscoring the need for tailored approaches based on individual risk profiles and health disparities. In conclusion, this review underscores the importance of a multifaceted approach to recognizing, preventing, and managing neurological complications of hypertension.
