Edition and Circulation of British and Foreign Bible Society Booklets

Abstract: In the perspective of Cultural History, this text is inserted in the History of Education and in the History of the Book. It proposes to present a survey of Protestant booklets circulated in Brazil during the 19th century, through the Britsh and Foreign Bible Society/BFBS, allowing an apprehension of the Protestant press and its relation with the History of Education, studying them as editorial strategies of diffusion and conformation of religious and pedagogical knowledge and practices.
