The Supervisory Role of Head Teachers? and the Delivery of Primary Education in the Rural Districts of Uganda

Abstract: This study assessed the head teachers supervisory role in the delivery of Universal primary education (UPE) in the rural districts of Uganda. It focused on Busoga region in Uganda. The specific objectives of the study were, (i) to establish the influence of head teachers communication on the delivery of UPE, (ii) to determine the effect of supervision of teachers on the delivery of UPE, (iii) to establish the relationship between the learning environment created by the head teacher and the delivery of education. A sample of 120 respondents from the district of Iganga, Mayuge, Luuka and Bugiri were contacted, out of whom 97 returned filled questionnaires.
