Effect of Pre-Operative Counselling on Post-Operative Outcome in Hernia Surgery Patients
Abstract: This article examines the impact of preoperative education on postoperative anxiety, pain and hospital stay. Surgery can be physically and psychologically stressful for patients. It is hypothesized that education before surgery reduces anxiety and enhances postoperative outcomes. This article is a prospective study carried out at Acharya Vinobha Bhave Rural Hospital to evaluate the impact of preoperative education on postoperative outcomes. This study points to the fact that preoperative education is beneficial to adult surgical patients.
