Ethnobotanical and Preliminary Phytochemical Screening of a Climbing Fern Lygodium flexuosum (L).S.W.
Abstract: The present paper deals with the ethnobotanical and preliminary phytochemical screening of a beautiful climbing fern Lygodium flexuosum (L). S. W. Schrad. The decoction prepared from plant parts is used by tribal people for curing many diseases like Jaundice, liver disorder, ulcer, cough and different type of skin infections. The extraction of plant material was done by hot maceration method in solvent Ethanol. Chemical group test detect the presence of Alkaloids, Flavonoides, tannin and saponin.
