Abstract: To assess the answering pattern and scoring of marks by traditional (unstructured) and structured essay questions by the Postgraduate students of the department of Ophthalmology Government General Hospital, Guntur Medical College as a part of medical education teaching programme fulfilment. Students can better answer structured questions than unstructured questions. They will be more precise in their answering and hence score better marks in the structured type of essay questions.
