Outbreak of Corona Virus (SARS-CoV-2) COVID-19: An Overview on Health System in West Bengal till 30th June, 2020
Abstract: The corona virus or COVID-19 threats our human civilization. There are two way threats, one health and another economy. India is a developing country. Director General, World Health Organization declared at the media briefing COVID-19 a Pandemic. He also further remarked, This is not just a public health crisis, it is a crisis that will touch every sector and every individual must be involved in the fight. So, health system is not up to snuff. West Bengal is facing so many problems. This disease is highly contagious and the health system of West Bengal is not competent to fight against the unprecedented situation. In the beginning, Beleghata ID hospital is the only hospital that started working in West Bengal. The West Bengal Govt. takes positive initiative guided by ICMR to combat this transmissible disease. In this speech I shall try to review every nook and corners to draw the clear picture of the health system in West Bengal.
