Of Surgery, BJ Government medical college & SASSOON General Hospitals, near railway station, Pune-411001 Mobile+91 800718788 Email nitinchore44@gmail. com TOPIC Role of negative pressure wound therapy for chronic surgical wounds AIM To analyze role of negative pressure therapy in management of chronic surgical wounds in view of duration of healing, patient satisfaction and overall hospital stay. METHOD An open labeled randomised control trial carried out on patients with chronic sur-gical wounds following eligibility, diabetic ulcers, venous ulcers, pressure ulcers etc. Consecutive type of non-probability sampling was used for the selection of study subjects during study duration. All the subjects fulfilling the eligibility criteria were taken for study after informed consent. A total of 120 patients of chronic wounds were divided into 2 study groups as per com-puter generated random numbers. RESULT NPWT had better results over conventional dressing.
