Antipsychotic Treatment and Deep Vein Thrombosis: A Clinical Case

Abstract: Deep venous thrombosis is a common condition, the severity of which is related to the occurrence of a life-threatening pulmonary embolism. It has several serious complications that can include the risk of recurrence and the onset of post-thrombotic syndrome. In the literature, a relatively high rate of venous thrombosis is reported in patients on antipsychotics, so practitioners must be vigilant in taking antipsychotics, which is at risk of venous thrombosis, the risk of which increases in case of alterating disease Patient or surgery.
