Self-Comforting Techniques and Non-Pharmacologic Methods to Relieve Pain During Labor

Abstract: Non-pharmacological methods like adopting different position, massage therapy, touch therapy, and breathing relaxation therapy during first stage of labor. Pain is a condition which is associated with physical, psychological, and emotional states of individuals. The use of pharmacologic to control pain includes the use of analgesic and regional anesthesia, area-specific medication to block nerve cells, general anesthetists. Using analgesia during labor can make pregnant women relax when there is no contraction, it component of narcotic analgesia drugs, sedative drugs, hypnotic drug and tranquilizer, however, analgesia can cause side effects on both the mothers and babies. These pain impulses can be inhibited with stimulation on the skin including effleurages, massaging, or rubbing etc At the end of viewers and readers will be able to have improved knowledge and attitude regarding non-pharmacological pain management during first stage of labor, labor process and pain physiology, Massage therapy, Relaxation and breathing Techniques, Effleurage therapy, Position During labor
